We’re beginning to feel soft and sluggish in this holiday season with grand plans of becoming hard and sharp in the new year. In the meantime, we have the excuse that it isn’t 2022 yet. What should we be doing instead to set ourselves up for success? Making some micro and/or atomic changes right now will set ourselves up for success in the new year. If you cannot make the small changes right now, what makes you think you can make a big change when 2022 arrives?
Are you wanting to start running? Maybe you should get some steps in first? If you can’t walk 3-5 miles per day, what makes you think you’ll be able to jump into a running program?
Maybe you want to begin learning an instrument. Since that takes time, you need to begin carving some time out of your day for such. This takes more of an effort than actually practicing and learning.
Getting yourself going is the toughest part. Small changes need to start right now in getting used to that time block for success.
