The Shaw Show Makeover

The Shaw Show has been my blog on Google’s Blogger since May 2010.  In the last year, I have noticed that I like to solve a lot of mathematical problems.  This involves some complex notation.  While I found that I could mark up some mathematical notation using Blogger, it did not look nice.

I found out that WordPress works well with LaTeX.  For example, here is how one would find the expected value of a product of two continuous random variables in a multivariate setting:

$\displaystyle E(XY) = \int_{-\infty}^\infty \int_{-\infty}^{\infty} xy \cdot f(x,y) \, dx \, dy$

That does not need to make sense to you at all.  It is just illustrating how elegant math can be displayed in WordPress.

I plan on working through daily lessons through Blogger University to slowly build up and modify the site.  For the next 14 days, I will be working through “Blogging: Fundamentals.”

I can hardly wait to get started.  Hope some of you will enjoy this adventure with me.
